The stuff of Instagrammer’s dreams, Singapore is a vibrant city that offers a myriad of breath-taking photography options – from the buildings of Chinatown and the art of Little India to the incredible views from Ce La Vi or the iconic Gardens by the Bay. We absolutely love this country (and city) and of course no trip would be complete without a tour of the most Instagram worthy places in Singapore.
If you ask us, a few of these – like Marina Sands or People’s Park are a little overdone. And although you’ll definitely want to grab some photo at these amazing places, you also have to explore some of the lesser-known Singapore photo spots and head to the likes of the MacRitchie Reservoir or out to Rochor Road.
So read on to find out which of the most Instagrammable places in Singapore made it onto our must-visit list, and to be super helpful, we’ve also included an interactive map, so you can make your way between the locations with ease.

Jewel Changi Airport
Let’s kick off the most Instagrammable places in Singapore with a photo spot that you’ll be able to find as soon as you step off the plane (if you’re arriving into Singapore by plane that is). But no fret, if you’re already in Singapore as hopefully you’ll be leaving on a jet plane, and can check out this iconic Singapore landmark as you depart…
As if Singapore Changi Airport wasn’t already one of the best in the world, the Jewel which opened in October 2019 really cemented its place at the top of the list. The nature-inspired entertainment centre that links three of Changi’s terminals has been front and centre of almost every Instagram travel feed thanks to its central masterpiece, the tallest indoor waterfall in the world, the HSBC Rain Vortex.
ArtScience Museum
Another one of the most Instagram worthy places in Singapore, made famous by camera-wielding Instagrammers, this has become THE photo spot in Singapore for Grammers to flock.
The major attraction at the ArtScience Museum has to be the Crystal Universe in the Future World exhibit, which includes 17,000 LED lights. In terms of getting ‘the shot’, you usually have between 30-90 seconds in the exhibit to take it. Our advice is to get to the ArtScience as soon as it opens at 10.00am on a weekday and you’ll have the best chance to get those photos with no one else in frame…
And once you’ve got the most amazing photos from the exhibitions, make sure that you don’t miss out on taking some architectural photos of the outside. This museum is as beautiful outside as it is in… meaning you’ll likely spend quite some time getting a whole host of perfect pics for your feed.
Gardens by the Bay
Now, no Singapore itinerary would be complete without at least an afternoon visiting the incredible Gardens by the Bay. There are so many places to explore in this massive nature park (it’s about 101 hectares in size), that we probably could have created an ‘Instagram worthy places in Singapore’ article dedicated to just these gardens.
Most people will take photos of the Supertree Grove, which includes a cluster of enormous artificial trees but try to get creative with your angles! You should also head over at night for an illuminating view and to catch the night light and music show! It’s definitely one of the best things to do in Singapore at night!
Of the other attractions within Gardens by the Bay, the other must-visit Instagram spot is within the Cloud Forest, which just pips the Flower Dome in terms of the quality of photos that you’ll take!
The Cloud Forest Dome is a giant greenhouse (that may be underselling it) that creates the cooler, wetter conditions of tropical mountain regions from around Asia and South America. But it’s the central waterfall that’s the highlight of the attraction. And make sure you wander around all the paths, exploring different angles for beautiful photos.
Singapore Flyer
The Singapore Flyer is Singapore’s answer to the London Eye, and no surprise, just as with its European counterpart, this giant observation wheel offers spectacular panoramic views across Singapore.
If you’re more budget conscious, at 33 Singapore Dollars for a ride on the Singapore Flyer (that’s approx. 24 USD/18.50 GBP) you may instead want to take your photos of this landmark from further away. When it’s lit up at night it offers a fantastic addition to the Singapore skyline.
Helix Bridge
Another for the architecture junkies, this pedestrian bridge is one of our favourite Instagram places in Singapore, whatever time of day or night you visit you’ll be rewarded with unique perspectives and changing light that bring additional dimensions to your pics.
What’s more it’s a link bridge between Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Flyer, so you’ll definitely be walking over it at some point.
Marina Bay Sands Hotel
This one is a bit of a no brainer, after all it’s not only famously depicted in Crazy Rich Asians, but it is also the world’s most instagrammed hotel. Enough said?
But don’t just grab some snaps from outside this amazing landmark, you’ve got to get photos from the upper decks of it. And in our opinion, one of the most beautiful sunset views across Singapore, is from the Ce La Vi Bar. It is an Instagrammer’s secret.
Many will know the view offered from the hotel’s infinity pool, but this is only open to hotel guests. Ce La Vi is located just next to it and all you need to do is buy a (slightly overpriced) cocktail for your trouble. Is there a better excuse for sundowners?
Masjid Sultan Mosque
With its huge golden domes and impressive architecture, the Sultan Mosque is a beautiful building, fit for photography! Please be respectful though when taking your pics – the mosque is a key building in the Singaporean Muslim community and should be treated with the necessary deference. Ideally wear a longer dress or trousers and don’t get too close.
Haji Lane
Located in the Kampong Glam district of Singapore, Haji Lane is another very Instagrammable street in the city (get used to it as there are a lot of streets for you to explore).
Not only a great place to get some colourful street shots, Haji Lane is well worth a stop for a coffee, to watch the world go by. If you’re also keen for some alternative shopping to the likes of Orchard Road, then this is a great little spot to pick up some trinkets and souvenirs.
Old Hill Street Police Station
It might feel a little odd perching yourself outside a police station but, in this case, the police have left the building! The Old Hill Street Police Station now houses government offices and a central courtyard with an exhibition, so don’t worry about taking your perfect selfie in front of this facade.
If you’re an avid photographer, this is where you may well need that wide-angle lens!
Joo Chiat Road
One of the most famous Instagram streets in Singapore, these pastel-perfect houses are ideal for your feed. Joo Chiat Road (and the nearby Koon Seng Road) are a couple of the most stunning roads in Singapore.
Head to the nearby MRT stations of Paya Lebar or Eunos, and wander around the district, you’ll be amazed by the number of great photo spots you can find. Just remember to bring along colour-coordinated clothing, to take advantage of the symmetry of colours.
People’s Park Complex
It might be a little overdone recently, but if you’re really keen on getting this shot, you could combine this with a shopping trip. Although fair warning, the Complex actually houses an old shopping mall which is a little worse for wear.
The best shot of the People’s Park Complex is definitely after a tropical shower, where standing water on the ground provides the most incredible reflection of this, in our opinion, monstrosity…
Chijmes
A former convent & school, Chijmes now has a great restaurant. Oh, and a wonderful Instagram photo opportunity!
Located in Singapore’s CBD (Central Business District), this striking complex was used as a convent from 1852, having been purchased and expanded by Father Jean-Marie Beurel, turned into a large Singapore school, but things started to diminish by the 1960’s with the final pupils leaving in the 1980s.
By the 1990s, the complex underwent major redevelopment and nowadays houses restaurants, cafes and major entertainment spaces.
Little India
One of our favourite areas on our whole Singapore Malaysia trip was the delightful district of Little India. There is not one single location in Little India but a plethora of Instagram worthy places. Roam the streets past Hindu temples, or soak in the spices from a local restaurant before snapping your photos of choice.
Although if we had to call out the one photo spot in Little India that you just cannot miss it has to be the colourful Tan Teng Niah House. The house was built by the Chinese businessman of the same name for his wife.
If you’re looking for that perfect photo, try and head to the house of Tan Teng Niah at around midday as the colours stand out the best and even though it may be the heat of the day, it’s only a short walk from the Little India MRT station.
Although other spots that should be on your list to visit in Little India are the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple and another architectural delight, the Indian Heritage Centre.
This area is definitely one of the most Instagrammables places in Singapore!
Chinatown
It’s a real toss-up between Little India and Chinatown for our favourite district of Chinatown, and although Little India just pips it, Chinatown is still a hugely Instagrammable place in Singapore. Head to Pagoda Street or South Bridge Road and just wander the lanes, in search of that fiery photo for your feed.
Alternatively, a few of the more Instagram worthy spots here include the Sri Mariamman Temple – which a little like the Tan Teng Niah House being out of place in Little India, finds itself a rather unique sight in Chinatown.
The oldest Hindu Temple in Singapore was founded in 1827 and its wonderful entrance tower makes it one of the best Singapore photography locations.

And the imposing Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, although far more modern having been completed in only 2007, this Buddhist Temple holds the relic of the left canine tooth of the Buddha.
Bukit Timah Railway Station
We all know that railway tracks make for a great Instagram shot, and with the popularity of train streets in both Thailand and Vietnam with the travel Instagram crowd, it’s no surprise that something not too dissimilar makes it onto our list as one the most Instagram worthy places in Singapore.
However, it’s not a train street but the disused Bukit Timah Railway Station that should be your place to get some cracking photos.

National Orchid Garden
Set in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the National Orchid Garden opened in 1995 and is home to an amazing 60,000 orchid plants.
Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love orchids? And what better backdrop for your Instagram photos? No wonder it’s on our list of the most Instagram worthy places in Singapore.

Fort Canning Park
Another of our favourite places in the city, but mainly as somewhere we love to run early in the mornings when in Singapore… although trust us it has to be early or it gets far too hot!
Although it’s not the beautiful grounds of Fort Canning Park that pushes the place onto our list, but it is the spiral staircase that gets the nod as one of the city’s Instagram hotspots.
Head to the base of the steps, and you’ll get the most gorgeous shot back up towards the tree-lined open skies.
MacRitchie Reservoir
Perhaps not as well-known or unusual as the other locations on this list, the MacRitchie reservoir offers heaps of Instagram worthy opportunities but also a chance to just ‘breathe’ a little. There is no better place to escape the oppressive heat and confines of downtown Singapore!
